The Case
During a spate of similar burglaries at the end of 2019, two masked assailants used a concrete post to smash through the glass frontage of our client’s London gallery in the early hours of the morning. Whilst the insured’s alarm sounded and contacted the alarm receiving centre, the insured suffered a significant loss because items in the gallery front were grabbed and removed within minutes of entry.
Our Role
The claim was reported to RTIB first thing the next morning and a loss adjuster and member of the RTIB team attended the client’s gallery the next day. The client was assisted in reporting the claim to the police, in recording the stolen items on various loss registers, in securing the gallery and in ensuring they were able to continue to trade as best they could. We recommended a glass fitter who was able to replace the damaged frontage and boarding the same week.
The Outcome
Within a month of the incident, an initial and a final report were supplied to insurers and the significant claim settlement was made in full to our client’s bank account.
